Meet the team
Our three partners are supported by ten staff with varying experience and expertise. The partner dealing with your affairs will select the most appropriate member(s) of the team to work with him, so you will always deal with the same people, and they will be able to answer your queries accurately and quickly.
Directors
Giles Thrush FCA, CTA, Partner
Giles is experienced in all aspects of general practice, working on taxation, audit review, statutory and management accounting, investigation and research and general financial planning. In addition, he is responsible for the firm’s student training and development programme.
Giles qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and as Chartered Tax Practitioner in 1992. He joined Richardson Dawson & Carroll in 1985, working from the Holborn office. In 1986 he moved to Marlow. On the dissolution of Richardson Dawson & Co, Giles continued working in Marlow with Richardson Jones & Co, where he became a partner in 1992.
David Porter FCCA ACA, Partner
David is responsible for the firm’s audit regulation and practice assurance compliance. His work includes audit review, management accounting, budgeting, profit and cashflow forecasting (business plans), business valuations, personal and corporate taxation, and general financial planning.
David qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1992 and as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. He joined Richardson Dawson & Carroll in 1984, working from the Princes Risborough office. In 1986 he moved to the Marlow office. On the dissolution of Richardson Dawson & Co 1987 he continued working in Marlow with Richardson Jones & Co. David has a keen interest in IT and has been instrumental in the development of the firm’s substantial IT resources. He became a partner in 1998 and is experienced in all aspects of general practice.
Chris Jones ACA, Partner
Chris's work includes auditing, statutory accounts preparation, management accounting, personal and corporate taxation, computer consultancy and general financial planning. He is also responsible for the regulatory compliance ot the firm’s investment business.
Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995. He joined Richardson Jones in 1992 and has gained experience in all aspects of general practice. He became a partner in 2001.
Team
Kevin Ellerby ACA, Manager
Kevin’s work encompasses account preparation, audit, management accounts, VAT accounting, taxation and general financial planning.
He joined the firm in 1998 at the Great Missenden office, and relocated to Marlow in 1999. He passed his ACA qualification in 2004.
Jo Ackland ACA BSc, Manager
Jo’s work includes accounts preparation, audit, management accounts, VAT accounting, taxation.
Jo joined the firm in 2002 having completed her degree in Accounting and Finance at Southampton University. She passed her ACA qualification in 2005.
Carla Romero BA PGDipHRM, PAYE/HR Adviser
Carla runs our payroll service. Her role comprises preparing payrolls and providing clients with human resource advice.
Carla joined the firm in 2003 and gained a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management in 2007.
Faraz Memon, ACCA
Faraz joined us in 2009 and is enjoying the "hands on" involvement the comes with being part of a smaller firm. His work encompasses audits, corporation tax and preparing annual financial statements.
Faraz trained with one of the "big four" firms, before spending three year with a top fifty firm in order to work with a broader range of businesses.
Shirley Saint-Cricq
Shirley works mainly on audits and accounts preparation. Shirley joined the firm in 2008 having previously been employed in the audit department of a top four firm. She is currently studying for the fundamentals stage of the ACCA qualification.
Alex Tonge, ACA
Alex qualified as an accountant in 2009 and works primarily on accounts preparation and audit.
He joined the firm in 2005.
Raj Bal
Raj’s work includes accounts preparation and audit.
Raj joined the firm in 2007. He currently is studying for the final stage of the ACA qualification.
Fang Shen
Fang, currently preparing for her final exams to qualify as a chartered accountant, joined us in 2010. Her role includes preparing accounts for small and medium-sized businesses, corporation tax issues, and personal tax returns.
Fang joined us from a small practice in Wokingham and has a degree in Accounting from Reading University.
Dee Houghton, AAT, Payroll Manager
Dee joined the firm in 2005, qualifying as an Accounting Technician in 2007.
She has over four years' PAYE experience and now runs our payroll service covering all aspects, from registering new PAYE schemes at HMRC to filing year end returns.
Sarah Higgins & Kim Ludman, office managers
Sarah and Kim joined in January 2009 and jointly run the office. As well as meeting and greeting visitors and answering the phones, they are in charge of the firm’s sales and purchase ledger.
